Doing More With What You Know > Consulting Services

As part of our commitment to developing networks, building community relationships and enhancing the skill sets of child and youth mental health researchers and practitioners, the Centre is pleased to offer consulting services in research and program evaluation to stakeholder agencies.

A stakeholder agency is a group or institution engaged in counseling, intervention, monitoring, care, education or research pertaining to child and youth mental health.

Program Evaluation Services

We can help your agency build internal capacity for program evaluation by :

  • Working with your staff to design program logic models
  • Identifying stakeholders and opportunities for collaborative partnerships
  • Helping you to develop evaluation questions
  • Identifying outcome indicators and measures
  • Conducting workshops/webinars on program evaluation topics
  • Supporting data analysis
  • Identifying opportunities for knowledge exchange

Research Projects

We can assist in all aspects of the development of a research project by:

  • Reviewing existing research plans.
  • Designing research projects (e.g. conceptualizing a research question, selecting a test population, computing sample size and selecting statistical tests).
  • Designing data collection tools (e.g. surveys and questionnaires).
  • Evaluating research projects.
  • Identifying sources of data.
  • Preparing grant applications or ethics approval applications.
  • Identification of potential research partners.

These services are consultative in nature, with the stakeholder taking primary responsibility for carrying out any work associated with the project. We recommend that you seek research expertise as early as possible; however, projects may be presented at any stage of development.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Centre’s consulting services, agencies must :

  • Be delivering programs directly related to the mental health of children and youth aged 0-18 years in the province of Ontario

OR

  • Be conducting or proposing child and youth mental health research or evaluation focused primarily on an Ontario population.

Consultation services are free of charge and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
