Grants and Awards > Expertise Mobilization (Backfill) Awards
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT THE CENTRE’S 2010-11 GRANTS AND AWARDS The inaugural contract among the Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (the Centre), the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) comes to an end in March 2010. While the Centre will enter into a new contract with MCYS in 2010-11, we are currently unable to commit to funding new projects in the next fiscal year. As a result, research grants and training awards have been temporarily suspended while the Centre and MCYS work together to renew the Centre’s mandate and identify ways to build on our significant accomplishments. Current award recipients are not affected by this funding interruption, and should continue to carry out their grant-related activities. Read more... The Expertise Mobilization Awards competition is now closed for 2008-2009. Purpose Expertise Mobilization (Backfill) Awards aim to enable child and youth (0-18 years of age) mental health service providers and service provider agencies, who have a research or educational interest and expertise in these areas, protected time or backfill to work on a specific research or educational project that addresses the mandate of the Centre. These funds are not intended to be used for program development unless there is a clear measurable research or educational goal associated with the activity. These individuals would not normally have such time protected for them by other sources. The time to be protected can be blocked or scattered (e.g., 2 months vs. 1 day per week). Applicants interested in renewing their award must complete the Application for Renewal form and submit it with all required documentation to the Centre one month prior to the end of the award term. For more detailed information about the renewal process for expertise mobilization awards, please refer to the Expertise Mobilization Awards Instructions and Application for Renewal. Value of the Award Maximum up to $20,000 a year, with a possibility of renewal upon re-application for a maximum of 2 years. Renewal will be contingent on the availability of funds and the Centre’s contract renewal beyond March 31, 2010.
