Strengthening the Evidence
The Centre promotes and facilitates the use of credible evidence to inform the decisions, practices and policies of individuals, organizations and systems providing child and youth mental health care.
Success is:
-
Service providers have confidence that their practices were effective and valuable.
-
Parents and caregivers have the skills and resources to support child and youth mental health and to be informed consumers of services.
-
Children and youth receive the highest quality mental health care across all points in the continuum – promotion and prevention, early identification, intervention, recovery, rehabilitation and chronic care.
- Ultimately, reduced suffering for everyone affected by child and youth mental illness.
Achieving these goals requires a systematic approach to understanding what existing research can tell us about child and youth mental health care and to identifying key areas for new research.
The Centre seeks user input at different stages in the research process. Let us know if you’d like to contribute.
